Estate Grown, Columbia Valley
Planted in 1986
Merlot is the principle red variety of Bordeaux and has a long history in America. Along with cabernet sauvignon, merlot thrives and produces hearty red wine in the warm and dry wine regions of the Pacific Northwest.
Our Estate Grown Merlots "oak" well and taste sweet even when fermented to dry. This varietal presents the palate with an abundance of fruit flavors, including red plum, cherry, and blackberry. Moderate silky tannins further compliment this versatile variety. Our vineyard's unique terroir ensures that levels of acidity (often lacking within this varietal) are balanced with sugars.
